Your thoughts on the Riedell Ice Skates 625 SS White Ladies Soft Boot - GR4 Blade?
I'm interested in buying them from skates.com, size 7. My normal size is 8 (running shoes). But after viewing Riedell's sizing info, I think I should get a 7. (my foot is 9 1/2 inches long, it said to chose 2 1/2 inches shorter as the correct size).
Trying to get as much info as possible!
Oh, and also: I'm a recreational skater, good athletically and a fast learner, but I'm not into skating seriously, just for fun. I try to learn tricks on my own, but nothing huge. Just hockey stops, going backwards, forward crossovers, stuff like that).
Riedells typically run a size below shoe size for ladies. So if you are in a size 8 shoe, then you will be in a size 7 skate. You will want to pay attention to width. If your foot is wide, and Ridells tend to run a bit narrow, then you won't be comfortable.
The 625SS is a decent recreation skate especially if you are going to stay on the ice i.e. not jump. The boot is nice and stiff like a rollerblade. The lining is warm but I would still recommend wearing a singe pair of socks. Nylons won't do you any good since the boots are plastic.
