What size Hockey Skate...?
What Size hockey skate should I get?
I'm not going to be playing, I'm just getting a hockey skate that I can go to the rink with and hang out with friends.
There also happens to be no stores in the area that sell them.
So I'm ordering off of dicks sporting good's website.
Now, I'm faced with the question of what size I wear.
I wear a size 9 in Men's shoes, so what size should I get in Hockey Skates?
Also, Should I be getting a Youth Skate, Junior Skate, or Senior skate?
(I ask because I'm 13. Youth kinda sticks out.)
Any help would be appreciated.
Since you're not going to be playing, with a size 9 street shoe, you could get away with a 7.5 or 8 since most hockey skates are in Canadian sizes that run 1 to 1.5 smaller than US sizes. IF comfort is really important, I would make the effort to go to a skate shop and try on different brands with different sizes as manufactueres will vary slightly. THEN you have the issue with width...CCM run a little wider than Bauer BUT the model number will indicate most of the time performance, width etc. I skate Graf 705's...7 indicates a higher end skate and the 05 indicates a wider, higher instep. So depends how much you want to spend and how comfortable you want to be which road you take.
