Should I get Easton or Nike Bauer skates?

I'm not talking about the Vapor XXXX, One95 or the S17. I want to know if Easton's or Nike Bauer's lower models skates are good. I am looking at the Nike Bauer Vapor XII, XVI and the Easton S3, and S6.

Personally I would suggest easton skates only because I have had a love hate relationship with a pair of Nike Bauer Supreme 30's.

First off it depends if you're playing ice hockey (if so at what level) or just a leisurely skate.

If you have flat feet such as I do I would suggest Eastons only because their skate footbed is a bit more parallel to the ice, unlike vapors which tend to dip down a bit in the middle.

Another aspect to consider is the blade length, this was one of the problems that I had where the bauer supreme 30's front of the skate blade stuck out about 3/4 of an inch more than my old CCM's. So in this aspect of the skate I believe the Eastons are also better because the blade length is shorter so the chances of tripping yourself on the front of the blade or tuurning instead of coming to a crisp stop on the ice.

The third aspect to consider is the skate's weight since easton is known for having the lightest skate ever in the S15's at less than 700 grams! I would also take eastons in this case too because even though the S3's and the SE6's (what you called the S6's) aren't the top of the line S15's you would still have to think that the lower models would still be fairly light.

The fourth aspect of your decision is the price
SE6: $135 - $140
S3: $80
XII: $80
XVI: $100

For this aspect you can decide for yourself and your budget.

The fifth aspect is the skates durability.

Easton skates have more blade on the skate than Vapors and all but the XVI's have a stainless steel blade/runner that is very strong compared to the XVI's that have a faststeel runner.

All of the skates have a moisture wicking interior to hold up against weak spots caused by your feet sweating. Easton skates in my opinion hold up better against flying pucks, sticks and other skates by not showing as much damage to the outer boot.

The sixth and final aspect of your decision is the comfort between you and your skate. hich can only be decided by you finding the proper size skate and putting it on and tying it up properly and if it's uncomfertable right away that skates not for you. Obvilously you cannot tell if the skate blade lenght is right for you until you go on the ice, try to use aspect two (the blade length) to find your answer.
