Are Bauer Vapor XXXX skates supposed to hurt on the sides at first?

I just purchased a pair of vapor xxxx's. I went down two and a half sizes, the length is fine but the sides hurt a bit. I've only skated twice on them. Will it break in and feel comfortable or did I purchase the wrong size?

have them baked, if you havent already.
All new skates should hurt somewhere.
Where them a few more time.
You can even put blade guards on , and put them on and walk around your house with them on. That will help break them in
